“Feral” is a term for cats that have no home and wander the streets. It is important to learn as much as you can about these creatures to assure you have the best relationship possible. Getting to know a cat’s needs and taking great care of it can help your cat to have a fantastic life.

Don’t leave drape cords near your cats. Don’t let the cat play with them since they can jump into them or play with them and get them around their neck if they have loops. It may actually cause them some serious harm. Make sure that the cords are completely out of sight.

If you want to add a cat to your family, go to the shelter first to see what is available. Shelters are overflowing with wonderful cats, and the adoption fee usually covers essential vet care. By adopting a cat from your local shelter, you will preserve a life and will do your part in controlling the cat population.

Make sure your cat sees a vet regularly to maintain their good health. Cats need routine annual check-ups and possibly additional ones as well for vaccinations. Cats should go to a vet immediately if they have any conditions, health problems, or injuries that need to be tended to right away.

Spray bitter apple on electrical cords. If that doesn’t work, cover those cords up however you can. You can bundle loose cords together and place them inside paper towel rolls. Any electronic item not in use should be stored away where the cat can’t get to it.

You should now be able to step outside of your residence and defend against stray cats invading your yard. Cats can harm other pets, damage gardens and summon other cats. Obviously, cats are animals too, so they should still be handled carefully. Perhaps you will fall in love with a feral cat.
